The Municipal Center, Gibson-Aiken Center, and DPW offices will be closed on Dec. 13 from 7 to 10 a.m.

Traffic light engineers will be working on adjustments to the traffic flow around the Gen. John Stark Memorial Bridge

The bridge is anticipated to open a day earlier than expected due to inclement weather in the forecast on Dec. 5.

Crews will relocate a power line starting at the top of Melchen Road and work their way down toward Hinesburg Road.

The southbound lane of Canal Street will be closed from South Main Street to Elm Street on Nov. 12.

Canal Street will be closed from South Main Street to Elm Street on Nov. 8 due to debris removal following the recent fire at 45 Canal Street. 

While removing an item from Town property, if it's determined to be something other than garbage that is not a risk to our staff, we will retain the item for 14 days before disposing it.

Leaf collection is scheduled for Oct. 25 and Nov. 1, 2024, for all residents.

DPW is inviting the community to a behind-the-scenes look at their services! 

Beginning Monday, October 14, DMI Paving (a contractor of the town) will be paving Sawdust Alley (Holden Street, Baker Street and lower Birge Street.) 

In observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, all Town offices will be closed on Monday, October 14, 2024, with the exception of emergency services.

Elliot Street will be closed between the entrance to the Harmony Lot and the entrance to the Transportation Center between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. 

The Utilities Division will be making an emergency repair to the sewer line on Elliot Street, near 50 Elliot Street on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. 

On Sept. 23, the Highway Division will be replacing a failed culvert on Hinesburg Road. 

Public Works Crews are working to repair a broken water main on Marlboro Road in front Hamshaw Lumber.

The Utilities Division will be replacing a sewer line on Upper Forest Street from Sept. 3-6, 2024. 

Contractors will replace a retaining wall near the eastern intersection of Brannan Street and Williams Street. The work is expected to take several weeks.

In observance of Labor Day, all Town offices will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2024, with the exception of emergency services. Parking is free at all metered spaces and in the pay-and-display lots on Sunday, September 1, and Monday, September 2. All other violations will be enforced. Brooks Memorial Library will be closed on Sunday, September 1 and Monday, September 2. Trash, recycling and composting WILL NOT be picked up on Monday, September 2, 2024. All curbside collections will be delayed by one day all week.

There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Aug. 20 at 4 p.m. to celebrate the completion of the Water Treatment Plant.

Property owners are responsible for trimming and maintaining vegetation on their property if it may interfere with the public right of way.

Beginning July 15, the sidewalk on Western Avenue from Edward Heights to Greenleaf Street will be replaced. This work is expected to take several weeks. 

Beginning on Monday, July 8, the Utilities Division will be replacing the sewer main on Greenhill Parkway and Strawberry Lane. 

In observance of the July 4th holiday, all Town offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024, with the exception of emergency services.

A contractor will be painting road lines throughout town starting on June 27 at 9 p.m.

The National Weather Service is forecasting strong storms during the afternoon of June 23, 2024, in southern Vermont.

The Highway Division will be replacing the sidewalk on the south side of Fairground Road between Canal Street and Atwood Street.

Due to the heat advisory issued for this week, please attempt to have your items curbside by 5 a.m. 

On Monday, June 10, the Highway Division will be replacing a failed on Goodenough Road. Residents can access address numbers 82 and greater via Akley Road.

On Monday, June 3, the third-floor deck of the Transportation Center will be partially closed from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. to allow for construction. 

Utilities Division crews will start spring flushing of the Town water mains on Friday, April 19 and continue through Friday, May 10.

The Town’s annual Consumer Confidence Report/Water Quality Report for 2023 is now available. 

UPDATE: The delivery times will be closer to 11 a.m 

Beginning this construction season, anyone performing excavation work in the Town of Brattleboro right-of-way or on systems involving Town infrastructure must have an Excavation and Trench Permit.
