Town Clerk
For further assistance, contact the Town Clerk's Office, which is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m., with the exception of every election day and the following day.
The Brattleboro Town Clerk's office is responsible for a variety of administrative tasks. Some of the Town Clerk’s Office responsibilities include: issuing birth, death and marriage license copies; marriage licenses; dog licenses; liquor and tobacco licenses and permits; annual entertainment licenses; and Green Mountain Passport cards. The Office prepares for Elections and Representative Town Meeting, and is responsible for recording Land Records and selling cemetery plots.

The Brattleboro Town Clerk’s Office will be closed March 3 and March 4, 2026, for the election.
Brattleboro Town Meeting and WSESD School Board elections will be held on March 3, 2026. There are three major ways to vote in these elections.
Petitions for Brattleboro Town Officers, Windham Southeast School District (WSESD) Board Members, and Town Meeting Members are due to the Town Clerk’s Office no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026.
