Serving the Community
Serving the Community
Boards and Committees Application
Brattleboro has a strong base of community service. The town relies on the willingness of its citizens to serve on the many boards and committees that advise the town government on how best to maintain and increase the health, happiness and welfare of our residents, promote environmentally sound growth, and preserve the local spirit and historic beauty within the limits of a fiscally sound budget.
Some positions are elected - Selectboard and Representative Town Meeting Members, Board of Civil Authority, Board of Listers, Trustees of Public Funds - while others are appointed by the Selectboard. Elected positions require filing petitions being elected in most cases in March; contact the Brattleboro Town Clerk for further information. Appointments by the Selectboard are generally done in June, click here to apply.
