Assessor's Office
The Assessor's Office appraises real property based on Vermont State Statutes, ensuring fair market value. They update property changes yearly, conduct revaluations as needed, handle Town Business Licenses, assess Business Personal Property, and oversee Tax Stabilization for farmland taxpayers. Fire Department
Founded in 1831, the Brattleboro Fire Department is a career fire department made up of three platoons that work 24 hours on, with 48 hours off. As an all-hazard department, we respond to all nature of emergencies, including car accidents, hazardous materials incidents, medical emergencies, and wildland fires. Human Resources
The Human Resources department is responsible for managing the the Town of Brattleboro's employees. This includes recruiting and hiring new employees, administering employee benefits, payroll, providing training and development opportunities, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. Planning Services
The Planning Services Department provides a wide range of services to the general public, including community development, project consultation, development review, and zoning permit information and processing. Police Department
The Brattleboro Police Department is committed to providing a safe, peaceful, and prosperous environment for our community by policing and serving the community in a manner worthy of respect. The Department is where Central Dispatch is housed. Dispatchers receive and relay information to law enforcement and emergency response personnel. Public Works
The Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining the town's infrastructure and facilities. This includes tasks such as maintaining roads, snow removal, and managing the town's water and sewer systems. For those interested in engineering, operating machinery/equipment.
Recreation & Parks Department
The Recreation & Parks Department offers recreational opportunities through program planning and park facilities, benefiting the community by refreshing citizens, energizing the economy, improving environmental health, and fostering community unity! Town Clerk's Office

Town Manager's Office
The Town Manager is responsible for the general supervision of affairs of the Town of Brattleboro and for their efficient administration. The office is also responsible for Selectboard Meetings, Town Meetings, the Annual Town Report, and permits.
