EMS Billing
Overview
Welcome to the EMS Billing information page for the Brattleboro Fire Department. Our goal is to provide the highest quality emergency medical services to the residents and visitors of Brattleboro. This page contains essential information about our EMS billing process, what to expect, and how to handle any questions or concerns you may have.
Billing Process
When you receive emergency medical services from the Brattleboro Fire Department, first responders will make emergency treatment and ambulance transport determinations without regard to the cost of such services, or the ability of patients to pay for such services. After your emergency has been addressed, our team will collect your insurance information and other necessary details. We will then bill your insurance provider directly. You may also receive a statement for any co-pays or amounts not covered by your insurance.
The EMS Billing Policy is described as a compassionate approach which means that the direct financial impact on the Town’s residents is minimized as much as possible.
Insurance and Coverage
The Brattleboro Fire Department accepts most major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. It is important to provide accurate and up-to-date insurance information at the time of service to ensure proper billing. If you have any changes to your insurance coverage, please inform our billing department as soon as possible.
