Traffic Safety and Control Committee

This Committee meets on the third Thursday of each month at 8 a.m. in the Selectboard Meeting Room at the Municipal Center. The Committee's power to promulgate regulations comes from Chapter 16 of the Brattleboro Code of Ordinances.

The Chief of Police, Fire Chief, Director of Public Works, Superintendent of Schools, Planning Director, and Town Manager, or their authorized designees, shall constitute a Traffic Safety and Control Committee. In addition, the Selectboard appoints one representative from the Selectboard, one representative from the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce as well as one representative from the community at large. The representative from the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce serves a term of two years, each term beginning on an even numbered calendar year; the representative from the community at large serves a term of two years, each term beginning on an odd numbered calendar year.
