
Paving Project Updates for Sept. 28 to Oct. 4

Parking Impacts
Street side parking will be unavailable and strictly enforced throughout downtown. From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night through Saturday morning, painting operations, including the application of parking stalls, is scheduled along most project routes. Traffic Impacts
Brattleboro NH PC 25(6)
Nighttime single-lane closures will be in place Sunday night through Saturday morning from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Work will continue on Vermont Route 9 (Western Avenue and High Street), U.S. Route 5 (Main Street), Vermont Route 30 (Linden Street), and briefly on Vermont Route 142 (Vernon Street). Flaggers will be present to direct one-way alternating traffic through multiple work zones. Motorists should be aware of raised utility structures and wet paint.
Parking restrictions will be enforced during working hours. Pedestrians should watch for sidewalk detours.
Brattleboro-Putney STP PS 25(11)
Nighttime single-lane closures will be in place Sunday night through Saturday morning from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on U.S. 5 (Putney Road) from the intersection with Vermont Avenue to the approximate intersection with Noah's Lane. Flaggers will be present to direct one-way alternating traffic through the work zones. Motorcyclists should watch for grooved and uneven surfaces.
Construction Activities
Crews continue to measure decibel levels with noise monitoring equipment throughout the work area.
Brattleboro NH PC 25(6)
Linden Street (VT 30) - Curb work was prioritized this week along Linden Street and once complete, sidewalk work and paving will happen. It's anticipated this will all be completed by end of next week.
Vernon Street (VT 142) - Shoulder work and driveways should be completed by the end of this week and permanent pavement markings are planned for Sunday and Monday nights.
Canal Street (U.S. 5) - Final side road paving is on track for completion this week. Permanent pavement markings are planned for next week.
Western Avenue and High Street (VT 9) - Paving operations on VT 9 are scheduled to begin on Wednesday of next week and to continue until finished.
Main Street (U.S. 5) - Pavement markings, both long lines and hand work (stop bars, symbols, parking stalls) are scheduled to begin next week. This will take a couple of weeks to complete and parking will be restricted throughout the area.
Brattleboro-Putney STP PS 25(11)
Milling operations set to begin last week have been re-scheduled to begin on Sunday night on Putney Road (U.S. 5) near the intersection with Vermont Avenue. The plan remains to mill north to approximately the intersection with Noah's Lane. Once milling is completed in this area, the contractor will move on to paving the first lift of pavement through here.
