Parking Impacts

Street side parking will be unavailable and strictly enforced on Canal Street next week while crews place the permanent pavement markings. From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday night through Friday morning, no parking zones will also be present on Western Avenue, High Street, Main Street, and Linden Street. Please pay attention to nightly message boards indicating parking restrictions. The contractor and Brattleboro DPW are working together to move these boards for locations of work each evening. Traffic Impacts

Nighttime single-lane closures will be in place next week on Monday night through Friday morning from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Work will continue on Vermont Route 9 (Western Avenue and High Street), U.S. Route 5 (Canal Street and Main Street), and Vermont Route 30 (Linden Street). Flaggers will be present to direct one-way alternating traffic through multiple work zones. Motorcyclists should watch for grooved and uneven surfaces. All motorists should be aware of raised utility structures and wet paint.

Parking restrictions will be enforced during working hours. Pedestrians should watch for sidewalk detours.

Construction Activities

• Canal Street (U.S. 5) — Crews plan to finish the final pavement this week - completing both the main road and side street applications. Permanent pavement markings will begin on Monday. Motorists should be vigilant throughout the corridor and follow flagger instructions as well as avoid any traffic control devices as they may be guarding wet paint on the road. Pedestrians should watch for sidewalk detours.

• Western Avenue and High Street (VT 9) — The sidewalk crew and utility structure crew work will progress on this corridor as they are available.

• Linden Street (VT 30) and Main Street (U.S. 5)—  The structure crew is continuing to work on this corridor. The contractor is hopeful that enough of this work will be completed to begin paving top toward the end of next week.

Crews continue to measure decibel levels with noise monitoring equipment.
