Street-Side Parking on Canal Street Limited July 14-18
The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) has announced that nighttime single-lane closures will be in place from Monday, July 14, 2025, through the morning of Friday, July 18, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., as part of its paving project throughout Brattleboro. Street-side parking will be unavailable on Canal Street from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday night through Friday morning. [See map below.]
Work will begin on Vermont Route 142 (Vernon Street) and continue on U.S. Route 5 (Canal Street) toward the Exit 1 Interstate 91 interchange. Flaggers will be present to direct one-way, alternating traffic through the work zone. Motorcycles should watch for grooved and uneven surfaces.
VTrans has scheduled multiple paving projects for this construction season and into 2026. These projects will occur throughout Brattleboro and on U.S. Route 5 from Brattleboro to Putney. Sign up for weekly email alerts about this project by completing this contact form.
