Open Town Meeting
Photography, Filming and Recording Election Policy
Transparency throughout the election process while also maintaining order and the confidentiality of voters’ choices are goals to be respected.
At a meeting of the Brattleboro Board of Civil Authority on July 16, 2026, the Board adopted the following policy:
During polling hours, there shall be no video or audio recording, or photography taken beyond the check-in tables at any polling place for any election held in Brattleboro.
After polls are closed, while vote counting is taking place, members of the public and press shall remain in the area designated for observers at all times.
Members of the public and press may conduct exit polling and reporting only in designated areas outside of a polling place, and so long as they do not interfere with poll workers and voters as voters exercise their right to vote.
