Putney Road Reconstruction Plan
The Putney Road Reconstruction project is a longstanding Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) project to reconstruct Putney Road (US5) beginning at the north side of Veteran’s Bridge and extending 1.25 miles north to the roundabout at Exit 3. The initial plan included four new roundabouts, a divided road, sidewalks and bike lanes, stormwater, and landscaping improvements.
VTrans underwent a scope review of the project to determine if an alternative design would meet the project goals while also reducing project size and impacts. They met with Town representatives over the winter to review a revised proposed concept and get feedback. After making another round of revisions and discussing them with town representatives again, they requested to take it to the Selectboard and are seeking
