Schedule Updates for Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2026

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, all Brattleboro Town Offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, with the exception of emergency services.

Parking is free at all metered spaces and in the pay-and-display lots on Monday, Jan. 19. All other violations will be enforced.

Brooks Memorial Library will be closed on Jan. 19.

Trash, recycling, and composting will be collected on the regular schedule. Those services are not affected by the holiday.
 

Rec & Parks

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Gibson-Aiken Center's main office will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026. Please note that all programs after 1:30 p.m. will run as normal. 

There will be additional Open Gym & Game Room hours on Jan. 19 for grades K-12 at the Gibson-Aiken Center. Open Gym & Game Room is a wonderful, FREE program for children of all ages. It is a supervised program with a variety of activities to choose from. Along with basketball, there is foosball, air hockey, pool, arts and crafts, Legos, and more! Feel free to check them in with the Recreation & Parks staff, or stay and play with them!

Also on Jan. 19, the Brattleboro Recreation & Parks Department will have additional public skating times from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Skate rentals will be available for $3.
