Provide Feedback on the Latest Putney Road Redesign
The Putney Road Reconstruction project is a longstanding Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) project to reconstruct Putney Road (US5) beginning at the north side of Veteran’s Bridge and extending 1.25 miles north to the roundabout at Exit 3. The initial plan included four new roundabouts, a divided road, sidewalks and bike lanes, stormwater, and landscaping improvements.
VTrans underwent a scope review of the project to determine if an alternative design would meet the project goals while also reducing project size and impacts. They presented the new concept design to the Selectboard on September 15, 2026. VTrans is looking for Selectboard support of the redesigned plan and this will be discussed at an upcoming meeting.
