• A net-metered investment in a large solar array at Windham Solid Waste Management District
• An upgrade to 100% LED lighting in 9 Town buildings.
• Insulation, lighting, and heating upgrades at Living Memorial Park, and a transition to a natural refrigerant at the Nelson Withington Ice Rink.
• Creation of a tool and equipment library, in partnership with Brooks Memorial Library.
• Establishment of the Global Warming Solutions Fund.
• Investing in Vermont-based, renewable electricity generated by the Cow Power program from Green Mountain Power.
• Ongoing expansion of EV-charging stations in Brattleboro.
• Creation of a Brattleboro Food/Farm System Assessment (2023).
• Coordinating installation of a grid-scale battery system to support Tri-Park Co-op Housing.
• Transition of gas-powered tools and equipment to electric alternatives.
• Community projects/programs including: the Growing Resilience campaign, Windowdressers, the 2023 Efficiency Vermont Focused Community campaign, establishing an e-bike lending library, and distribution of free energy savings kits to residents and business owners.
• Conversion of a Town-owned parcel to a permacultured public food forest at 805 Western Avenue, in partnership with Edible Brattleboro.
• Upgrade of HVAC control system at Central Fire station, increasing energy efficiency and management.
• Deep energy audit and retrofit of the Gibson Aiken Senior and Recreation Center, with support from the Vermont Municipal Energy Resilience Program.
