Water Main Break Near Intersection of Green, High Streets

The Brattleboro Department of Public Works is responding to a water main break near the intersection of High and Green streets.

Residents throughout Brattleboro may experience low water pressure, a temporary loss of water service, or discoloration for several hours as crews isolate the affected water mains and begin repairs.

There is currently no indication that the water is unsafe to drink. The Town will continue to assess the situation and notify the public if additional precautions become necessary. Residents experiencing discolored water should allow their cold water to run until it becomes clear before using it.

Green Street will be closed near the site of the break. Traffic will be able to travel along High Street, but motorists should use caution and avoid the area if possible.

Crews are working to complete repairs and restore normal water service as quickly as possible. Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available.
