South Main Street Partial Closure on Jan. 6
On Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, South Main Street will be closed between Oak Grove Avenue and Pine Street, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. The closure is to complete repairs to a sewer main break that occurred on Monday.
Motorists should plan alternative routes during this time.

Starting around noon on Jan. 5, 2026, utilities crews are working on a sewer main break on South Main Street.
South Main Street at the intersection with Pine Street will have alternating, one-lane traffic. Pine Street is closed between South Main Street and Central Street. Traffic traveling toward South Main Street on Pine Street will be detoured down Central Street to Washington Street.
During this work, traffic will be restricted in the area, and motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid the intersection if possible and seek alternate routes. Traffic control measures will be in place to ensure the safety of crews and the traveling public.
At this time, the Town does not believe there will be an interruption to sewer service for residents. However, if any residents or businesses experience sewer-related issues, they are asked to contact the Department of Public Works directly at 802-254-4255.
