Overnight work is scheduled across all work zones for Oct. 16, Oct. 18, and Oct. 23.

Shoulder and side-road pavement marking operations will begin at 4 p.m. in the afternoon starting next week.

Traffic Impacts

Vermont Route 9: (Night Work) — From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Friday, shoulder closures will be in place as needed on VT 9 from Edward Heights to the Exit 2 interchange and single-lane closures may be present on side streets. Motorists should watch for wet paint and minor delays may be encountered through the project area.

From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday night through Saturday morning, single-lane closures with alternating traffic patterns controlled by flaggers are planned on VT 9 through the project limits. No street-side parking will be available through the work zone. Motorists should watch for wet paint.

U.S. Route 5: Brattleboro (Night Work) — From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., shoulder closures will be in place as needed on U.S. 5 from Noah's Lane to the Bennett Drive intersection and single-lane closures may be present on side streets Sunday through Friday. Motorists should watch for wet paint.

From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday night through Saturday morning, single-lane closures will be in place on U.S. 5 from the intersection with Vermont Avenue through the Exit 3 roundabout to the Old Ferry Road intersection. Flaggers and uniformed traffic officers will assist traffic through alternating traffic patterns. Motorists should watch for wet paint.

U.S. Route 5: Brattleboro-Putney (Day Work) — Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., single-lane closures will be in place as needed on U.S. 5 on the bridge over Interstate 91 between Bennett Drive and Old Ferry Road. Flaggers will control alternating traffic patterns through the work zones.

Downtown Brattleboro (Night Work) — A mobile work zone is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday night through Saturday morning. Uniformed Traffic Officers will provide a follow-along vehicle and assist with short lane closures and alternating traffic patterns as needed.

Construction Activities

Final work items including vacuum truck clean out of structures are scheduled throughout ALL the project limits.

Vermont Route 9: (Night Work) — Crews will continue to apply pavement markings. Due to temperature and weather, they will begin earlier in the afternoon at 4 p.m. on shoulders and side roads. This work has been allowed as long as it does not result in single-lane closures with alternating traffic patterns on VT 9 before 7 p.m.

U.S. Route 5: Brattleboro (Night Work) — Permanent pavement marking application will continue on U.S. 5. In addition, bridge joint installations are scheduled for Bridge 8 on Sunday night (over the West River near Spring Tree Road intersection). Night work operations will take place on Bridge 10B (the I-91 overpass between Old Ferry Road and Bennett Drive) once day-time repair work is complete.

U.S. Route 5: Brattleboro-Putney (Day Work) — Work on the I-91 overpass between Old Ferry Road and Bennett Drive is planned to finish during the day in the next week or two as the subcontractor becomes available. Paving operations for this will be done at night once repairs are complete to avoid traffic delays.
