No overnight work is planned for the night of September 11, 2026. However, overnight work is planned for next Friday, September 18, 2026.
Day work on Bridge 10B on U.S. Route 5 over Interstate 91 is scheduled to begin Monday, September 21, 2026.
Traffic Impacts
Vermont Route 9: (Night Work) — Single-lane closures with alternating traffic patterns controlled by flaggers will be in place from the Exit 2 interchange to the Edward Heights intersection from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday night through Saturday morning.
U.S. Route 5: Brattleboro (Night Work) — From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday night through Saturday morning, single-lane closures will be in place on U.S. 5 from the intersection with Eaton Avenue through the Exit 3 roundabout to the Old Ferry Road intersection with flaggers and uniformed traffic officers assisting traffic through alternating traffic patterns.
Construction Activities
Vermont Route 9: (Night Work) — Crews will be working throughout the length of the project limits on shoulders and various work items. Layout for the final pavement markings is also scheduled and painting may begin toward the end of next week.
U.S. Route 5: Brattleboro (Night Work) — Permanent pavement marking application is scheduled to continue from Noah's Lane to Old Ferry Road with the application of the green bike lanes. The paint crew will be working on permanent markings 5 nights next week (into Saturday morning). Bridge repair work is anticipated on Bridge 8 over the West River.
U.S. Route 5: Brattleboro (Day Work) — The contractor is planning to work on Bridge 10B (the I-91 overpass between Old Ferry Road and Bennett Drive) between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. beginning the week of September 21. Work for this bridge includes milling, excavation, bridge repairs, paving, and bridge joint work. This work will be performed under single-lane closures with flaggers directing alternating traffic patterns through the work zone.
