Paving Updates – August 28, 2026

There will be no overnight work on Friday, August 28.
Labor Day is next weekend and crews will be off the road from 6 a.m. on Friday, September 4 until 7 a.m. Tuesday, September 8 in observance of the Holiday.
Traffic Impacts
Vermont Route 9: (Night Work) — Single-lane closures with alternating traffic patterns controlled by flaggers will be in place between the Edward Heights intersection and the Interstate 91, Exit 2 interchange. Monday night through Friday morning, work zones will be active from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Delays are anticipated during working hours.
U.S. Route 5: Brattleboro (Night Work) — From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday night through Friday morning, single-lane closures will be in place from Noah's Lane through the Exit 3 roundabout to the Old Ferry Road intersection with flaggers and uniformed traffic officers assisting traffic through alternating traffic patterns as needed.
Construction Activities
Vermont Route 9: (Night Work) — Due to weather, paving the final lift of asphalt has been re-scheduled to finish up on Monday and Tuesday next week. The contractor will then pave driveway aprons Wednesday and Thursday nights beginning at the west end of the project and proceeding to the east. Bridge joint work is also planned once final pavement is complete. Delays may be encountered with all of these operations.
U.S. Route 5: Brattleboro (Night Work) — The hand work portion of permanent pavement markings will be placed on U.S. 5 from Noah's Lane through the roundabout to Old Ferry Road through next week. Additionally, bridge joint work is scheduled on throughout the project limits.
