State Route 9 Paving Project to Begin May 11

The Town of Brattleboro Department of Public Works would like to notify residents and motorists that a paving project along Route 9 is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 11, 2026.

This project is being conducted by the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) and will take place over several weeks.

Work hours will be nighttime operations from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
 

Project Details

•  Location: Route 9 between Exit 2 and Edward Heights

•  Work includes roadway milling, paving, and associated improvements

•  Night work is required to minimize daytime traffic impacts
 

Traffic Impacts

•  No overnight parking will be permitted along this section of Route 9 during active work hours

•  Motorists should expect delays, lane closures, and alternating traffic patterns

•  Flaggers and traffic control personnel will be on site to assist with traffic flow

•  Residents in the area should anticipate construction noise during nighttime hours

This is a state-managed project and all construction activities are being overseen by VTrans. The Town of Brattleboro is assisting with coordination and public communication.
