Kikitta Ahki (250 Birge St.) Closed July 15
Brookside Timber Harvesting will be treating Kikitta Ahki, the park located at 250 Birge Street in Brattleboro, for invasive plants on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. (This work was originally scheduled for Monday, July 14, but was postponed due to rain in the forecast.) The park will be closed for 24 hours to allow the spray to dry.
The treatment will target Japanese Knotweed, Japanese Bittersweet, Rosa Multiflora and Shiny Buckthorn. The treatment implements Environmental Protection Agency Environmental Review mitigation requirements, a condition of the project's federal grants. The treatment may cause irritation until dry, which is why the park will be closed for 24 hours.
