Frequently Asked Questions
When is the parade?
The parade kicks off on Friday, July 4 at 10 a.m. starting at Flat Street and running up Main Street ending at the Brattleboro Common. The shorter route comes after requests from older marchers and challenges finding enough volunteers and public safety patrols to monitor a longer distance.
What time do the road closures begin on Main Street?
The Brattleboro Police works to close off access to Main Street prior to the parade. We suggest you be at your destination by 9:30 a.m. to be safe.
When is parking free?
Before and during the parade, parking is prohibited on Main Street, Flat Street and the Preston lot. Parade-goers are encouraged to park free in the High Grove and Municipal Center lots.
After the parade, all downtown parking is free and only a short walk to festivities and fireworks at Living Memorial Park.
When and where are the fireworks?
Living Memorial Park — just off Western Avenue and Interstate 91 Exit 2 — hosts the fireworks starting at 9:30 p.m. Prior to that, our town Recreation & Parks Department will offer a series of public concerts, sporting events and family activities, including food vendors.
