GMP Project Begins at Ames Hill on Aug. 18
The Town of Brattleboro is advising residents that Green Mountain Power (GMP) will begin a major utility project on Ames Hill starting Monday, August 18, 2025.
This work is part of a large-scale initiative across Windham County to transition overhead power lines to underground infrastructure. The goal of this project is to improve reliability and reduce the frequency of power outages in rural neighborhoods, particularly during severe storm events.
Motorists traveling on Ames Hill next week should expect short traffic delays. Drivers are urged to use caution in the work zone for the safety of crews and travelers.
This project is expected to last into the fall. The Town will be providing weekly updates on ongoing travel restrictions and project progress.
