
Fall/Winter Sports & Activities
The Brattleboro Recreation & Parks Department has a lot planned for the colder months ahead! Check out the full brochure here or view a summary of the planned activities below. You can register for programs online or by visiting the Gibson-Aiken Center (207 Main Street, Brattleboro).
Programs
Free Open Gym and Game Room Hours: Supervised, unstructured program at the Gibson-Aiken Center, offering a safe and fun environment for children after school. This program provides a space where participants can shoot hoops, do homework, and use the game room to play bumper pool, foosball, air hockey, and table tennis.
- Grades K-6: Mondays (3 to 5pm), Wednesdays (3 to 4:45pm), Fridays (3 to 5pm)
- Grades 7-12: Tuesday and Thursdays (3 to 5pm)
- Grades 7-Adults: Saturdays (1 to 3pm)
Come and play with your children or leave them in the care of the wonderful Brattleboro Recreation & Parks staff! Please note that those under the age of seven must be signed in and an emergency number must be left with staff if a parent does not plan to stay. The Gym is closed on Sundays. The basketball court is for basketball only. Sneakers must be worn on the gym floor. Other activities include board games, Legos, chalk wall, Giant Connect Four, drawing, and more.

Equipment Sale: The Annual Phil & Mary Dunham Ski, Skate, Snowboard & Hockey Equipment Sale will be held on Nov. 2 from 8 to 11 a.m. Details here.
S’mores with Santa! Dec. 7 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Living Memorial Park. We will have s’mores, popcorn, hot chocolate, and photos with Santa and Elf.
Sports & Activities
Badminton: Thursdays, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Gibson-Aiken Center 3rd Floor Gym. $4/night Brattleboro resident; $6 per/night non-resident. Ages 16+.
Basketball League: A men’s adult basketball league. Pickup games Wednesday and Friday nights, 7 to 9 p.m. November through March. For ages 18+ (and out of high school).
Basketball, Youth: Registration is open. Five sections available. Prices vary. A $10 late fee will begin on Nov. 16. Waitlist begins Nov. 27.
Chess: Fridays, starts Dec. 6. $55 Brattleboro resident; $70 non-resident. Youth classes.
Fencing: Thursdays, 3:45 to 5 p.m./5:15 to 6 p.m. Gibson-Aiken Center 3rd Floor Red Room. $110 Brattleboro residents; $125 non-residents. Ages 7-12.
Gymnastics: Three sessions between Nov. 5 through spring 2025. Prices vary. For ages 18 months through 17 years old. Co-ed. Some sessions have waitlists. Register here.
Parent/Tot Open Gym: Thursdays, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Starts Nov. 7. Gibson-Aiken Center 3rd Floor Gym. Ages 5 and under. $1 per child per day. Unstructured program; supervision required.
Pickleball: Tuesdays, 7 to 9 p.m. Gibson-Aiken Center 3rd Floor Gym. $5/night Brattleboro resident; $7 per/night non-resident. Ages 16+.

Soccer, Adult: Thursdays, 7 to 9 p.m. Gibson-Aiken Center 3rd Floor Gym. $5/night Brattleboro resident; $7/night non-resident. Pickup games. Ages 16+.
Soccer, Youth: Starts Feb. 24, 2025. Gibson-Aiken Center 3rd Floor Gym. Three divisions by grade. $20 Brattleboro resident; $35 non-resident.
Swords & Boards: Mondays, 6 to 9 p.m. Gibson-Aiken Center. $12.50/night Brattleboro resident; $14.50/night non-resident. A Dungeons & Dragons group featuring one-shots and session arcs. Ages 16+. More details.
Table Tennis: Tuesdays, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Gibson-Aiken Center 3rd Floor Red/Blue Rooms. $3/night Brattleboro resident; $5 per/night non-resident. Pickup games. Ages 16+.
Volleyball: Mondays, 7 to 9 p.m. $5/night Brattleboro resident; $7 per/night non-resident. No instructor. Pickup games. Ages 16+.
