Swords & Boards: DnD Group at the Rec Center
The Brattleboro Recreation and Parks Department is offering Swords and Boards, a regular Dungeons & Dragons group, at the Gibson-Aiken Center.
The group will meet from October 21, 2024, to April 21, 2025, from 6 to 9 p.m.
This program runs on Monday evenings and is for anyone 16 years old and older. Please note those 17 and under must have a waiver signed by a legal guardian.
Join us for an evening of swords and boards, magic and mayhem, and far too many dice to be reasonable! This program is designed for teens and adults who enjoy tabletop role playing games and gaming. We run short workshops covering the basics of D&D 5e character creation for new players, and weekly homebrew one-shots as well as several session arcs for new players and seasoned adventurers alike to learn basics and enjoy delving into a world of magic, mythology, and of course, plenty of dragons.
Be sure to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated and feel welcome to bring your favorite dice or other D&D accessories. Dice will be available to borrow for anyone new to the game. These games are LGBTQIA+ friendly, welcoming, and run.
When new players join, we’ll review basics on table etiquette, consent sheets (for triggers and game themes), and basic expectations/DM style.

Register online or in person Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Gibson-Aiken Center beginning October 21.
