Land Use Regulations
The Town of Brattleboro’s Land Use and Development Regulations are established by the Brattleboro Selectboard under the authority of the Vermont Planning and Development Act. These regulations aim to implement the policies of the Brattleboro Town Plan and the Vermont Planning and Development Act. The primary purpose of these regulations include promoting orderly development, protecting public health and safety, conserving natural and historic resources, providing adequate housing, and encouraging smart growth principles.
Interim Zoning Bylaws
• Expansion of the Residential Neighborhood Zoning District, adopted March 20, 2025 by the Brattleboro Selectboard
• Social Assistance or Charitable Services, adopted December 22, 2025 by the Brattleboro Selectboard; effective until December 22, 2027
