Whetstone Pathway to Close for Resealing July 21-23
The Brattleboro Department of Public Works announces that the Whetstone Pathway, located adjacent to the Brattleboro Food Co‑Op and along the Whetstone Brook corridor, will be temporarily closed from Monday, July 21 through Wednesday, July 23, 2025. This brief closure will allow crews to complete necessary resealing work aimed at improving safety, accessibility, and pathway longevity.
Closure Details
- Closure Period: Monday, July 21, 2025, at 7 a.m. through Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 3 p.m.
- Location: Entire length of the Whetstone Pathway between the footbridge to the Preston lot and the Kyle Gilbert Memorial
- Reason: Cleaning, weeding, and color resealing
Impact & Accommodations
- No through access along the primary route; pathway users will be redirected
- Alternative Routes: Flat Street
- Crews on site: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily
- Weather Contingency: Rain or poor conditions may delay work into the following week; any schedule changes will be announced promptly
