
Summer Camp 2025
The Brattleboro Recreation & Parks Department is still accepting registrations for their Summer Day Camp program.
Day Camp is for those 5–12 years old only. The fee is $120 per week for Brattleboro residents and $135 for non-Brattleboro residents per week, except for Week 2, which will be $95 for Brattleboro residents and $110 for non-Brattleboro residents.
Camp takes place at Living Memorial Park and runs 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Children will participate in arts and crafts, sports, games, archery, music, drama, hiking, swimming, and special events.
Registration
Individuals can register online or in person Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon or from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Gibson-Aiken Center.
Schedule
The weeks of camp will be as follows:
Week 1: June 23 – June 2 (limited space available)
Week 2: June 30 – July 3 (no camp Friday)
Week 3: July 7 – July 11
Week 4: July 14 – July 18
Week 5: July 21 – July 25
Week 6: July 28 – August 1
Week 7: August 4 – August 8
Pre-Camp Care
There will be a pre-camp care/drop-off program offered Tuesday through Friday each week from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m.
The fee for pre-camp care is $5 per child per day.
Please sign your campers up with the program coordinator on Monday for the remainder of the week, as we will be limited to 15 spaces each morning. Drop-off will be at the Senior Area at the far end of the lower parking lot.
After-Camp Care
After-Camp Care is from 4 to 5 p.m. every day. Please sign up at the beginning of the week as space is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. The fee for after-camp care is $5 per child per day. Pick up for After-Camp Care will be at the Nelson Withington Skating Facility.
PLEASE NOTE: After-Camp Care and Pre-Camp Care fees are not included in the weekly camp cost. Children will participate in arts & crafts, sports, games, archery, gaga ball, music, drama, hiking, swimming, special events and mindful activities.
Specialty Camps
Baseball Camp
Rec & Parks, Jay Cudworth, and Brian Casey will offer two weeks of Baseball Camp this summer at Living Memorial Park on the Lower Softball/Baseball Field.
Session One is for kids entering the 1st–3rd grades and will run from 9 a.m. to noon from July 14 to July 18, 2025.
Session Two is for kids entering the 4th–6th grades and will run from 9 a.m. to noon from July 21 to July 25, 2025.
The fee is $130 for Brattleboro residents and $145 for non-Brattleboro residents. The instructors for this camp are Jay Cudworth and Brian Casey.
Participants will be trained in the fundamentals of baseball. Each camper will receive personal attention to help improve their skills through the use of proper playing habits. Experienced coaches will use their knowledge to help players take the next step in their baseball development. All participants must come with a glove, cleats/sneakers, water, and bat, if you own one. Please note a minimum of 10 participants are required to run each week of camp.
Basketball Camp
Rec & Parks and Jason Coplan of HoopsCamp.NET is pleased to announce that they will offer a week of Youth Basketball Camp for those entering the 1st–9th grade.
This camp will run from July 7 to July 11, 2025, and will be held at the Gibson-Aiken Center. Grades 1–4 from 9 a.m. to noon; and grades 5–9 from 1 to 4 p.m. Please note both sections have a max of 20 kids. This camp will take place at the Gibson-Aiken Center, and the program will be run by Jason Coplan.
The fee for this camp is $130 for Brattleboro residents and $145 for non-Battleboro residents.
Participants will take part in skills and drills that will help increase the level of play and understanding of the game. Students will learn valuable life skills working together in addition to taking part in various forms of competition and games, putting the fun in fundamentals. No player will be forced to participate if they do not feel comfortable. Please bring sneakers and a water bottle each day.
Gymnastics Camp
For those 5–14 years old. Held 9 a.m. to noon at the Gibson-Aiken Center. The first two weeks of Gymnastics Camp are four days, June 24–27 and June 30–July 3.
Weeks 1 and 2 cost $105/week for Brattleboro residents, $120/week for non-Brattleboro residents. Weeks 3–7 costs $130/week for Brattleboro residents; $145/week non-Brattleboro residents.
Softball Camp
The Brattleboro Recreation and Parks Department is pleased to announce that they will offer Softball Camp this summer at Sawyer Field (BUHS Softball Field).
This camp is for those in 3rd-8th grade and will run from 9 a.m. to noon from June 23 to June 27, 2025.
The fee is $130 for Brattleboro residents and $145 for non-Brattleboro residents. The instructors for this camp are Jay Cudworth and Erin Cooke, along with BUHS softball players and alumni.
With a focus on fundamentals, this softball camp will help participants develop good habits and proper technique that players will be able to utilize on the softball field. Experienced coaches will help increase knowledge of the game and build confidence at the plate. All participants are required to come with a glove, cleats or sneakers & a bat (if you own one), a water bottle & a snack for a morning break. A minimum of 12 participants is required, and a max of 24 will be accepted.
Science Camp
Rec & Parks and Science Camp will be offering a week of camp where children can explore and learn about science.
This camp will run from June 30 to July 3, 2025, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Gibson-Aiken Center's third-floor gymnasium. This camp is for those 8–11 years old. The fee is $140 for Brattleboro residents and $155 for non-Brattleboro residents.
This is a hands-on science camp where we will be doing projects and experiments to build science literacy and have fun making simple solar ovens, wind-powered model cars, water-powered and CO2-powered rockets, and more! Campers should come with a willingness to try and try again! We will be inside during building projects, but we will be outside to experiment. Fun is our main objective. If you have been to this camp during the previous years, please know it will be very similar with a few small changes. Campers should bring a snack and water.
