Strength & Balance Returns to the Senior Center with New Instructor

The Brattleboro Senior Center's popular Strength & Balance class will be returning with a new instructor, Martina Steves.

Held in the Senior Center, located downstairs in the Gibson-Aiken Center, this class will take place on Thursdays from 9 to 10 a.m. The cost is $5 per class, making it an affordable way for community members to stay active and engaged.

This welcoming, supportive class is designed to help participants age 55+ improve strength, stability, and overall wellness. The hour includes warm-up exercises, guided strength training activities, balance-focused movements, and time for socialization.

The program focuses on practical exercises that help participants build and maintain muscle strength, improve balance, enhance mobility, and support healthy aging. The class is suitable for individuals of all fitness levels, and no prior experience is required.

"Maintaining strength and balance is an important part of staying active and independent," said Senior Center staff. "We're excited to welcome Martina and offer a class that helps participants build confidence, improve well-being, and connect with others in a fun and encouraging environment."
