You're Getting a Ballot! Here's How to Return It
[UPDATE 10/01/24] According to the Elections Division at the Secretary of State’s office, there was a slight delay in the mailing of ballots. Ballots were mailed on Oct. 1. If you do not receive your ballot by October 11, make sure to contact the Town Clerk’s Office so we can ensure you get a ballot. Thank you for your patience.
You will be receiving an absentee ballot in the mail for the November 5, 2024, General Election. The State of Vermont will be mailing ballots toward the beginning of October. The local Justice of the Peace ballot will be on the reverse side.
If you have not received your ballot by October 11, please contact the Town Clerk's Office at 802-251-8157 or [email protected]. Otherwise, please wait for your ballot to arrive.
How to Return Your Ballot
Once your ballot arrives in the mail, make your choices and return it to the Town Clerk’s Office as soon as possible. All ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on November 5, 2024, to be counted.
Drop Box: There is a secure drop box in the Municipal Center parking lot where voters, or a friend or family member, may return their ballot in the signed certificate envelope that will be sent with the ballot. We encourage voters to use this method.
Return by Mail: You can also return the ballot in the mail using the pre-paid return envelope. Again, be sure the ballot is in the signed certificate envelope.
Vote In-Person: If you wish to vote at the polls on Election Day, we encourage you to bring your unvoted ballot that you received in the mail. Brattleboro polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on November 5 at the American Legion, 32 Linden St.
We are looking forward to a smooth and successful 2024 Election, and, with your help, this can be achieved.
