Renew or Apply for a Business License Online
You can now apply for a business license or renew a business license through our new online portal. To use this new portal, which is a product of OpenGov, follow the steps below:
1. Create an account with OpenGov.
2. Whether you are renewing a license or applying for a new license, you will be asked to fill out information about your business.
3. After completing your application, you can make a payment online. There will be a processing fee applied to the total.
A new business license or a business license renewal costs $50.
If you wish to pay by cash or check, you can pay by visiting the Assessor's Office or mailing a check to 230 Main Street, Suite 101, Brattleboro, VT 05301. Once we receive your check, we will email or mail your renewed license to you.
Business license renewals are due by March 15. Late renewals will incur additional fees. After March 15, the fee for renewal increases to $75.
