
Rec & Parks Programs: Spring 2025
A variety of sports programs are starting this spring! Registration for these programs begins March 3, 2025. You can register online or in person at the Gibson-Aiken Center, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4:30 p.m. Please note that beginning March 28, there will be a $10 late fee.
Gymnastics
Ages: For those 5-14 years old.
Fees: 8-week session is $100 for Brattleboro residents; $115 for non-Brattleboro residents.
Gymnastics Classes Session 4 will run from April 1 to June 9, 2025. Please note there are no classes April 14 to 18. Please note classes fill quickly. Classes will take place at the Gibson-Aiken Center located at 207 Main Street. Parent Tot classes are for those 18 months to three and a half years old only. All classes have a minimum of four kids to run. Everyone should bring a water bottle to each class and wear tight fitted clothing.
Youth Fencing
Ages: 7 to 13 years old.
Fees: $110 per session for Brattleboro residents; $125 per session for non-Brattleboro residents.
This program will be an introduction to Western Martial Arts. Students will learn the basics of combat, self-defense, and a history of swordplay within European society. These classes are designed for beginners and returning fencers alike and will be geared towards the study and practice of historical techniques, with sparring practice and games to explore the application of technique. Students should bring a water bottle to stay hydrated as well as clean indoor shoes with good traction. Come check out the noble art of fencing and be prepared to lunge into action.
Classes will be on Thursdays from March 20 to April 24.
- 7-10 year olds: 4 to 5:15 p.m.
- 10-13 year olds: 5:20 to 6:35 p.m.
Classes will be at the Gibson-Aiken Center located at 207 Main Street and the class will be located on the 3rd floor in the red room. Space is limited to 8 participants.
Intro to T-Ball
Ages: For those born between Sept. 1, 2020, and Aug. 31, 2021.
Fee: $20 for Brattleboro residents; $35 for non-Brattleboro residents.
Intro to T-ball players will meet once a week for practice beginning the week of May 5 and will continue through the week of June 6. Please note the practice day, time, and location is TBD and based on the schedule of the volunteer coaches. Intro to T-ball will only run if there are multiple volunteer coaches to help run this program.
Small Fry Baseball
Ages: For those born between Sept. 1, 2015, and Aug. 31, 2018.
Fee: $40 for Brattleboro residents; $55 for non-Brattleboro residents.
Practices will begin the week of April 21, weather permitting. Games will begin the week of May 5 and continue until early June. Youth will learn the fundamentals of baseball, stressing safety, skills, and fun. Players will be assigned a team and will have 2 to 3 practices and games a week. Each child will need to bring their own glove, water bottle, and appropriate footwear (sneakers or cleats) to each practice and game. Please note that gray pants are required during games. The Brattleboro Recreation & Parks Department has a limited selection and range of sizes of pants available upon request. Each player will be assigned to a team as well as a practice location.
Youth T-Ball
Ages: For those born between Sept. 1st, 2018, and Aug. 31, 2020.
Fee: $35 for Brattleboro residents; $50.00 for non-Brattleboro residents.
During the T-ball season, youths will properly learn the fundamentals of baseball, stressing safety, skills, and fun. Players will be assigned to a team and will have one practice and one game per week. Each child will need to bring their own glove, water bottle, and appropriate footwear (sneakers or cleats) to each practice and game. Each player will be assigned to a team as well as a practice location. Practices will begin the week of April 21, weather permitting. Games will begin the week of May 5 and continue until early June.
Girls Youth Softball
Ages: For those in 1st-3rd grade and 4th-6th grade.
Fee: $45 for Brattleboro residents; $60 for non-Brattleboro residents.
Girls youth softball players will learn the fundamentals of softball, stressing safety, skills, and fun. Players will be assigned to a team and will have 2 to 3 games and practices a week at Living Memorial Park or away against neighboring towns such as Vernon, Erving, Hinsdale, Northfield, and Greenfield. Each child will need to bring their own glove, water bottle, and appropriate footwear (sneakers or cleats) to each practice and game. Each player will be assigned to a team as well as a practice location. Practices will begin the week of April 21, weather permitting. Games will begin the week of May 5 and continue until early June.
Girls Youth Lacrosse
Ages: For those in 2nd-6th grade.
Fee: $20 for Brattleboro residents; $35 for non-Brattleboro residents.
Season will begin the week of April 21, depending on field conditions. Practice will be held 1-2 times per week. Participants should provide their own equipment. This includes mouthguards, cleats or sneakers, water bottles, stick, and goggles. This group is strictly skills and drills-based and will not play any games against other towns. A minimum of 10 participants is required to run each age group. The practice date is TBD.
Boys Youth Lacrosse
Ages: For those in 2nd-6th grade.
Fee: $20 for Brattleboro residents; $35 for non-Brattleboro residents.
Boys Youth Lacrosse will have 2 practices a week and will focus on fundamentals and skill building. Try a new sport or refine your skills! A minimum of 10 participants are required to run this program. Participants should provide their own equipment (mouth guard, cleats/sneakers, a water bottle, a boys lacrosse stick, and helmet and pads.) At this time this group is strictly skills and drills-based and will not play any games against other towns.
