Maple Street Closure Aug. 24–25

The Town of Brattleboro would like to inform the public of a temporary closure of Maple Street to accommodate private utility work associated with a development project in the area.

Maple Street will be closed between the I-91 overpass and the intersection of Maple Street and Austine Drive on Monday, August 24, and Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

The anticipated schedule is as follows:

Monday, August 24: Maple Street will be fully closed within the work area beginning at 8:30 a.m. and will reopen to normal traffic no later than 8 p.m.

Tuesday, August 25: Maple Street will be fully closed within the work area beginning at 8:30 a.m. and will reopen to normal traffic no later than 8 p.m.

During the full closures, traffic will not be able to travel through the work area between the I-91 overpass and Austine Drive. Properties and streets east of the closure area will need to be accessed from the Canal Street side, while properties and streets west of the closure area will need to be accessed from the Western Avenue side.

Motorists should anticipate delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible. Drivers should use caution, follow all posted traffic-control signage, and obey directions from flaggers and construction personnel.

Any work occurring after August 25 is expected to be completed under alternating one-lane traffic, and no additional full road closures are currently anticipated.

The Town appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation while this work is completed.
