Free Sunscreen Available at Living Memorial Park
Did you run out the door without applying sunscreen? Rec & Parks has you covered!
In early August, the Brattleboro Recreation & Parks Department received a mounted automated sunscreen dispenser along with a start-up supply of sunscreen. The dispenser, which has been installed on the west side of the Living Memorial Park pool house, provides the public with free SPF 30 sunscreen.
The dispenser was provided to the town through a grant opportunity sponsored by the statewide cancer coalition Vermonters Taking Action Against Cancer, the Dartmouth Cancer Center, and IMPACT Melanoma.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advise the public to apply sunscreen all year, not just during the summer, or when the UV Index is 3 or higher. The CDC recommends reapplying sunscreen if you’re out in the sun for more than 2 hours or after swimming, sweating, or toweling off.
