Vote in the Upcoming Elections

Brattleboro Town Meeting and WSESD School Board elections will be held on March 3, 2026. There are three major ways to vote in these elections.

1. Absentee Ballot

Absentee ballots for the March elections must be requested.

Voting absentee by mail: Anyone wishing to vote absentee may apply for an absentee ballot until 5 p.m. on Monday, March 2, although we recommend doing so as soon as possible to allow for mail delivery time. Ballots can be requested through the voter’s Voter Portal, https://vote.vermont.gov, or by contacting the Town Clerk’s office at 802-251-8157 or [email protected]. Mailing of requested absentee ballots began on February 6.

Picking up an absentee ballot: Only the voter may pick up their ballot from the Town Clerk’s Office.

Returning your absentee ballot: Ballots can be returned by mail, dropped off in advance of the election in the drop box in the Municipal Center parking lot, or returned to the polls on Election Day. When returning voted ballots, please pay careful attention to the instructions included with your ballots. All voted ballots must be received by the Clerk before the polls close on Election Day, March 3, by 7 p.m. to be counted.

2. In-Person Early Voting

In-person early voting will begin on Tuesday, February 17 at the Brattleboro Town Clerk’s Office. This option is available through Monday, March 2 at 5 p.m., any time the office is open to the public. There must be two election officials in the office in order for us to provide this service.

3. Voting in Person on Election Day

Brattleboro voters can vote in person on March 3 at the American Legion, 32 Linden St. Polling hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
