Assessor’s Office Now Accepting 2025 Business License Renewals
The Brattleboro Assessor’s Office is now accepting business license renewals for 2025. Business owners can renew a license (or apply for a new license) online.
Renewals
Business licenses must be renewed each year by March 15. The cost of renewal is $50. After April 15, the cost increases to $175.
You can renew your license starting January 1 of each year. If you previously applied for a license, the option to renew should appear in the dashboard of your OpenGov account. Login to account your here.
You may also pay by cash or check at the Assessor’s Office. If paying by physical check, please send it to: Brattleboro Office of Assessment, 230 Main Street, Suite 101, Brattleboro, VT 05301. Once we receive your check, we will email or mail your renewed license to you.
New Businesses
If you provide goods and services from a location in Brattleboro, including from your home, you must obtain a business license within 30 days from the date of opening.
First, create an account in the online portal. Once you have created an account, you can fill out the form and make a payment.
Your business license will be emailed to you. The cost of a license for a new business is $50, which can be paid online. There will be an additional processing fee for online payments.
You may also pay by cash or check at the Assessor’s Office. Once we receive your check, we will email or mail your renewed license to you.
Closures
If you have closed a Brattleboro location, please email the Assessor's Office to let them know you are no longer doing business in town.
