Boil Water Notice Lifted for All Affected Areas
The Town of Brattleboro Department of Public Works is notifying residents and businesses that the precautionary boil water notice issued following the recent water main breaks has now been lifted for all affected areas.
Required bacteriological water samples were collected from the distribution system and submitted for laboratory testing. The Town has received the test results, and the samples have met the required drinking water standards. Customers within the affected areas may now resume normal use of their water. Boiling water prior to drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or other potable uses is no longer necessary.
Although the boil water notice has been lifted, some customers may continue to experience temporary discolored water as the distribution system stabilizes following the breaks and subsequent flushing activities. If discolored water is observed, customers should run cold water from a faucet until the water clears.
DPW crews will continue monitoring the distribution system and performing additional flushing where needed. Customers experiencing persistent discoloration or other water-related concerns are encouraged to contact the Department of Public Works.
