Community Invited to Discussion on Black Mountain Road Scoping Study on March 19

The Town of Brattleboro, with technical assistance from consultant MSK Engineers, invites the community to join in a discussion of the Black Mountain Road Scoping Study. View the site map here.

The project seeks to address chronic road washouts that create financial stress to the Town, impair the water quality of the Crosby Brook, and create localized flooding. The purpose of the meeting is to obtain comments and concerns about the existing conditions from local residents and members of the public. The study will examine the costs and benefits of reclassifying a segment of Black Mountain Road extending from 460 Black Mountain Road to Kipling Road, narrowing the roadway width, restricting access to bikes and pedestrians, and replacing a culvert at the intersection with Dickenson Road and a culvert across from Black Mountain Park.

The Local Concerns Meeting will be held on Zoom on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 6 p.m.
