Summer Program at Brooks Memorial Library Launches June 26

All Together Now: This year’s summer program has something for everyone with activities and events for children, teens and adults! The program begins on June 26.

Adults can join the fun by participating in a new self-guided activity each week in the Main Reading Room. Learn a dance, test your engineering skills with a building game, grow some ingredients and learn to cook them. We have a lot of fun events to enhance your summer reading adventure! Get ready to soar in an all-ages paper airplane derby, tell your story with a community map-making project, get your hands dirty at our plant potting station, and much more!

Kids can join the “All Together Now” summer reading program by stopping by the Children’s Room to pick up a reading record and summer kick-off activity bag. Kids earn points to win prizes by reading and attending library events, including Monday Movie Matinees, Sing & Dance with Robin, and our Family Game Night. For a full list of programs and events, visit our website or stop by the Children’s Room and pick up a schedule.

Teens who check out library books receive a scratch ticket to win a prize, which includes gift certificates to local businesses and books! No sign-up or logging book titles required! For information about our teens-only events, including movie nights and zine workshop, visit the website.

Brooks Memorial Library is a proud participant of the Summer Food Service Program. All children 18 and under are invited to enjoy free lunch at the library - no registration is needed. Lunch will be offered Monday through Friday from noon to 1 p.m. from June 26 through Aug. 4 (with the exception of July 4). This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

All our programs are free and open to the public. Have questions? Please contact the library at 254-5290 or visit the website. The summer challenge is supported by the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) and is sponsored by the Vermont Department of Libraries and the Friends of Brooks Memorial Library. Additional funding and prizes are provided by Domino’s and other local sponsors.
