Library’s Main Street Entrance to Close Starting Aug. 17
Brooks Memorial Library’s renovation project will bring changes to building access beginning this week.
The library’s upper entrance, accessible from the Municipal Center parking lot, will reopen on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
Beginning Monday, August 17, the library’s Main Street entrance will close and is expected to remain closed through the fall. Patrons should use the upper entrance to access the library during this phase of construction.
Also beginning August 17, all designated library parking will be relocated to the Municipal Center parking lot. This includes accessible parking, 15-minute parking and two-hour parking spaces.
These changes are part of the ongoing renovation of the library’s exterior, which includes improvements to the sidewalks, walkways and other areas surrounding the building.
The project is supported by the American Rescue Plan Act Coronavirus Capital Projects Fund (CPF) administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury as part of an award totaling $16.4 million for capital improvements to Vermont’s public libraries. It is one of 14 CPF projects overseen by the Vermont Department of Libraries.
