Learn About Ranked Choice Voting
What is ranked choice voting? How does it work, and what are the challenges of implementing it?
This spring, Vermont Secretary of State Sarah Copeland Hanzas and the League of Women Voters of Vermont co-hosted a two-part series on ranked choice voting, the second of which featured Brattleboro Town Clerk Hilary Francis.
The virtual forums were intended to help inform the debate as public interest in ranked choice voting has grown. The first entry in the series provided an overview of the subject. The second presentation zoomed in on two Vermont communities, Brattleboro and Burlington, for closer look at what it takes to operate a local election and what’s involved in making the transition to ranked choice voting.
