
Heat Advisory: July 16 from 12-8 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the Brattleboro area today, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 12 to 8 p.m. Heat index values are forecast to reach between 95 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit, posing a serious risk of heat-related illness.
Residents are urged to take precautions to protect themselves and others, especially vulnerable populations such as older adults, young children, and individuals without access to cooling or hydration.
Health Risks and Symptoms
Exposure to extreme heat can lead to serious health issues. Common symptoms of heat illness include:
- Muscle cramps
- Heavy sweating
- Nausea or vomiting
- Headache or dizziness
- Confusion or fainting
If symptoms persist or worsen, or if someone becomes disoriented or unconscious, call 9-1-1 immediately.
