
BFD Press Release – Structure Fire March 1, 2024
Central Station and Station 2 were dispatched to 108 Oak Street at 17:32 for a fire on the third floor. Engine 2 arrived on scene at 17:36, Captain David Emery reported a 2 1/2 story wood frame structure with smoke coming from the third floor. Captain Emery requested a second alarm to be dispatched for a working fire.
Engine 2's crew performed a primary search of all three units and stretched a hose line to the third floor. The third floor crews reported heavy fire in the unit and began a fire attack. Off duty BFD personnel and mutual aid companies arrived on scene to assist with the operation. The fire was reported under control at 18:09. Crews remained on scene performing overhaul and salvage operations.
The fire has displaced three occupants, 2 dogs and a cat. They are all able to relocate with friends and families.
The fire is under investigation by the Brattleboro Fire and Police Departments.
